"Oranžās Brīvdienas"
Oranzas Brivdienas (OB or Orange Holidays) is Latvian TurboFolk band what means ska, reggae, metal, rock, disco and other styles mixed with some folk elements, formed by songwriter Speiss (Ints Kergalvis) on March 2000 in his hometown Kuldiga, Latvia.
At the beginning local friends and musicians were invited, but after few gigs band members and music style changed until in 2005 the band became in it’s this time vision, but still with unstable participants.
Today OB is:
Speiss - acoustic guitar, lead vocal, music and lyrics;
Kundzins – bass;
Chakste – rhythm guitar, mandolin;
Andzabrals – lead guitar;
Kalja – trombone;
Max – trombone;
Ricis – saxophone;
Brunis - Trumpet
Jeska – drums;
Pecis – sound FX;
Eriks – percussion;
Gusins – percussion;
Band has played almost in all music clubs and festivals in Latvia. Until 2006 band played also in Germany, Netherland, France, Ukraine and Romania. On spring of 2009 to celebrate band’s 9th anniversary OB went on Balkan tour with shows in Latvia, Lithuania, Romania, Bulgaria and Macedonia and released demo “Everybody Tantsevat”.
OB concerts usually are full of positive, powerful and screaming energy. People just go crazy. If it is possible, band uses fire show on stage. For getting better condition, band players also are original Latvian wedding musicians.
This is a real live band from Latvia. No show can be the same as Latvian turbo folk. Hope to meet you in real show!
