According to Urban Dictionary "pity sex" is "when girls have sex with guys because they feel bad for them". Pity Sex is an american punk-indie-shoegaze-lo-fi band formed in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Their debut EP was released in March 2012 and was named Dark World. It was out through Forward Records and got some good reviews. "As an EP, Dark World is a sign of great things to come for these four Michigan punks".
In 2013 the band released their debut album "Feast of Love" on Run For Cover Records. Following the band signing to Run For Cover Records the Dark World EP would also be re-released through Run For Cover Records.
The band are four of them,Sean St. Charles - drums, Brennan Greaves - guitar/vocals, Britty Drake - guitar/vocals,Brandan Pierce - bass. The both singers, Brennan Greaves and Britty Drake lead you through darkness of teenage angst filling you with great softness combined with the simplicity of music.
