Rob began his career in the 60s in Australia as a member of Bobbie Thomas and The Dimensions.

On the heels of the Dimensions came Bobbie Thomas and The Beaumen, with whom he scored a Top 10 hit with the single 'Lavender Blue'
After a short time as Ray Brown's replacement in the iconic Australian pop group The Whispers Rob formed The Thomas Brothers and scored another hit with the single 'Ain't No Woman'. Continuous gigging followed until Rob took a left turn and auditioned for the prestigious Australian acting school, NIDA (National Institute of Dramatic Art). Graduating in 1984 he pursued an acting career alongside his singing, appearing on stage and screen across the country. He was a member of the hugely popular Les Miserables company for a number of years and then the highly successful Aspects of Love before returning to Les Mis for tours to Singapore, Hong Kong, South Korea and South Africa.
He continues his acting career alongside constant work as a cabaret singer and big band vocalist and has delighted audiences for years with his comedic alter ego, the saloon singer and crooner Tony Delarte.
